the garden yields
Productive trip to the midwest yields to deep breaths back home on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Even after a week of no watering and 100 degree temps, the garden provides a delicious meal upon our return. A basic pesto – basil, garlic, olive oil and parmesan – with tiny sun gold tomatoes. The garden looks unruly, with gigantic cucumbers that might even take over all of Talbot County, but the taste is so very sweet. We’re home.
With a bottle of Bordeaux from Vlad and Misha in St. Louis, celebrating my fifty-one-derful birthday, we watched the day end over Harris Creek.
Grateful.

You’re making my mouth water!
That looks delicious Kathy – and we were JUST TALKING about making pesto, the basil is peaking out over here! HAPPY BIRTHDAY – 50 for reals?!?
