Swinging on a hook

Kevin and Thom had a camping adventure up on Leed’s Creek the other night – they pulled into a protected anchorage for fishing. Thom cooked up some Delmonico steaks and rice on the grill; they watched the day end slowly. It always rains when we go camping – and it did then too. The bimini kept them dry while they knitted some yarns……..

Kevin phoned me in the morning and I could hear the birdsong in the background. Here is a great blue heron. It looks like she’s wearing a wig, but this is what they do with their feathers when preening.  He watched her for hours.
