Reflections on November 1st

Walked to the landing with Kevin and the dogs at sunset, seeking the day’s final reflections – it was brisk, chilly. I felt guilty, a little, when I realized that the stinky, smoky smell swamping Mayberry was coming from our little wood stove. Oh well.  Inside, I appreciate the warmth and it smells like dinner.

Reflecting on the past, I see that last year’s Nov. 1st journal entry asked: “Are 2 crabs worth it?” And I answered: “Absolutely!” And this quote, from 2 years ago on Nov. 1st, 2008:

“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.”

  1. What beautiful light!

  2. the strange pull shouldn’t be so strange. the strangeness comes from having to resist what you love for the pragmatic. beautiful post!

  3. Indeed, Robert – it shouldn’t be strange at all. Thank you!

  4. What are the reflections on the barn of? I loved the quote so much I posted it on my FB. Thanks!

  5. Hi Julia! It was from the windows of the house right in front of the little barn….. lovely, aren’t they? Like a little secret, in the neighbor’s backyard…..
