and quietly…they disappear……

…one by one, the osprey leave. Pick up their wings and head south. Each spring, they’re here by March 19th, and each fall, they leave our area about the third week of September. Heading far south, to the Caribbean, Venezuela. Found in all corners of the globe, the internet tells me that nowhere are osprey more abundant than right here, on the Chesapeake Bay.

Godspeed, osprey. See you in six months, right back here. I’ll be waiting!
