How to shuck an oyster

Now, I’ve tried this every year a couple of times, and being clumsy, usually stab myself and quit trying. Last weekend at the Oyster Fest, I watched a few experts – here is Jeff Harrison, a Tilghman Island native who has been on the water for 44 years. He was with the Talbot County Watermen’s Association where bushels of oysters were being shucked and sold all day long. These are native, Talbot County oysters. I took a little bit of video – you can see that I don’t really know how to use the camera yet (or how to embed the video – aargh!) but you can watch it here.
