Black Walnut Point

….is the southernmost bottom part of the tip of Tilghman Island, dangling into the Chesapeake Bay. There’s some kind of spy station there, masquerading as a weather station or some such thing, and an Inn –  a perfect place to stay if you want to get away from it all (http://www.blackwalnutpointinn.com/). The Point has plenty of space for walking and fishing – in summer, people line up like sardines along the shoreline, fishing all day long. In stormy weather, this is a great place to go watch the Bay smash up against the shoreline, big waves bursting up onto the road. In general, it’s a good place to go if you just need to think.

Here it is:

Last evening, the Monday “men’s night” group went down there in Jake’s Travco.

How. Cool.  Is.  THIS?

  1. Real cool Kathy! Love Black Water Point, we venture down their by car when out cruisin’ & enjoying the Eastern Shore water scenery, catching a meal in St Michaels, Tilghmans or Lowes Wharf. Great place to catch a sunset too!

  2. How cool, you ask? SO cool.
