Preparing for Hurricane Sandy in Talbot County

Workers were piling sandbags around the Verizon control center on Tilghman Island this afternoon. Situated directly across from Dogwood Harbor, the site is on low ground and frequently floods.

On other parts of the Shore today, boats were hauled, lawn furniture and outdoor items moved to protected locations, and shoppers loaded up water, batteries, milk, bread, beer and dog food.. .   2. Toilet paper….good idea. I just read a report that said we could lose power for “weeks”, and honestly, I can’t imagine that….wouldn’t that screw up the election?
