Waiting for Hurricane Sandy

It’s kind of weird, waiting for a big storm. I’m recalling Hurricane Irene, just over a year ago, where everybody got pretty whipped up, and it ended up worse up in Pennsylvania than it was here on the Bay. But this one looks like it’s going to be pretty bad.

So we baked up some rockfish and made fishcakes and fish stock for the freezer.

Pulled out the camp stove, the french press, and the box of candles. Read a good article from eatocracy on food safety and hurricanes.

But until the hurricane comes, it’s warm and cloudy here, with terrific fall colors – these are on Rich Neck Rd. in Claiborne.
