Winter solstice

Shortest day of the year and the longest night. Celebrated in community with food, poems, stories about the Yule, cheer.

Here’s Kirke’s poem, fresh out of his brain on Friday afternoon at 3pm:

Winter Light – By Kirke Harper

We gather this solstice in this magic place

To celebrate new beginnings.

We circle, Druids all, around this winter fire

Awaiting colder days,

 Welcoming snow and ice

 Yet to come.

We watch for early light, longer days.

 We share friendship and laughter,

Gently pushing age away,

In this time of hope and forgiveness

Looking for a change in the light.
