the biggest dog parade in America

…doesn’t happen on the Chesapeake, but it does happen in Soulard, our St. Louis neighborhood, as part of one of the largest Mardi Gras events in the country.  Thousands of dogs – and other pets, of course – roosters, chickens, camels, cats, birds, ponies, snakes, you know. Pets. Ten thousand pets this year? Something like that.

Now, Mardi Gras is not my thing. At ALL. But the pet parade sure is. And in spite of the unfortunate fact that I spent the whole time in bed with the flu didn’t take all of these photos, I did include 2 pics from years past. We’ve been to a lot of these parades.

A dog parade is about as good as it gets. Nice job with the photos, Kevin Garber. Grateful to our host, Cynthia McCafferty. Woof!

  1. Looks like a hoot! Bummer about the flu. Get some elderberry in you ASAP! And get well soon.

  2. Doggone, I hope you’re feeling better!
