Plein Air Easton

The good people at Plein Air Easton put out this little video – it’s short, but gives a terrific overview of this 9th annual Talbot County event – the largest and most prestigious juried plein air competition in the US. It’s taking place right now, right here.

  1. Gee, it’s kinda like a “reality TV” show!

    • Johnny – one “reality” is that it’s 100 degrees out and those poor plein air painters have to be reconsidering their medium of choice….”what was I thinking???” I watched one poor painter today set up around 11 in the SUN on the street in St. Michaels.

  2. I was only half joking – poking fun at the “reality TV” craze and competitive art like Top Chef.

I could see how the Plein Air competition really *would* make for engrossing drama – I could picture interviews with the artists – asking why the chose a particular subject, how the weather and light cooperates (or not), and the whole idea of creating art against a deadline. Might be pretty fun to watch!
