who needs wings…

…if you’re a kite boarder?!!! Met another group of kite boarders at Claiborne Landing today – these from the Eastern Shore – Easton, Cordova, Stevensville – who take the day off when the winds are right (20+ mph) and coming from the right direction. These guys actually flew in front of my eyes – high! far!  It was exhilarating!

Why do they flock here? The large cove is wide, protected and flat. Average depth is 3 feet. Wind whips, boarders sail. You can ride a wind a long way, stand up if you fall down, and climb back on again. Perfect!

  1. That kind of looks like fun. Would you try it?

    • Absolutely not in this lifetime, I’d end up flying and landing way out in the marsh, or the parking lot. Maybe next time around. You?
