Around here, school is cancelled due to fog more than any other reason. This morning, the fog came in quickly – and schools had a 2 hour fog delay. It must be a delicious thing, hearing the words “fog delay” on the radio, if you’re a kid (likely less so for the parents.)
Here’s why. Fog is just like a cloud, but on the ground (how’s that for science?) And on this peninsula dangling out into the middle of the Bay, it doesn’t take much of a shift in the water/air/ground temperatures before we’re engulfed in a thick, moist, gray pea soup.
