Tilghman Island’s Crab Pot Christmas Tree

The terrific folks at the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center are finishing up building the world’s largest (is it? I think so) crab pot Christmas tree again this year. It will be lit next Saturday, December 6th at 7:00 pm, to be followed by a lighted boat parade. The tree is located to the left just as you cross the bridge onto the Island, at the nonprofit’s new property and site of the oyster house project – one of our region’s most interesting environmental/community development projects. Learn about it here.

And if you’re anywhere around here – meet me next Saturday at 6:00 pm at Characters Bridge Restaurant for cocktail hour right before the tree lighting and parade. How many Christmas boat parades do you get to enjoy, anyway???? Exactly! See you there.
